Tensions between the United States and Iran have intensified following a series of stern warnings issued by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform.
Trump set a deadline for Iran to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, warning that failure to comply by Tuesday could prompt military action. He indicated that potential US strikes could target Iran’s energy infrastructure, bridges, and other key facilities.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global oil route, and any disruption to its operations could have far-reaching effects on international energy supply and prices.
Reacting to the threat, Iranian authorities condemned the remarks as provocative and unlawful, cautioning that any attack on their territory would be met with a “proportional” response.
The situation has raised fresh concerns about stability in the Gulf region, with analysts warning that escalating tensions could disrupt oil flows and pose serious risks to global security if diplomatic solutions are not pursued.
