President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to Professor Attahiru Jega, Special Adviser on Livestock Development, following the death of his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jega.
Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the President at the Janazah prayer held on Sunday at the National Mosque in Abuja, where he delivered the President’s message of sympathy to the bereaved family.
In his tribute, President Tinubu described the late Hadiza Jega as a woman of remarkable grace and strength, noting her steadfast support for her husband throughout his years in public service, including his tenure as chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He also commended her contributions to education and community development.
Expressing his grief, the President said he received the news of her passing with deep sorrow, offering prayers for her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and strength for Professor Jega and his family during this difficult time.
The condolence message was conveyed in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on April 5, 2026.
