Nigeria’s foremost anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared Halimat Adenike Tejuosho — the South-West Zonal Women Leader of the City Boys Movement wanted in connection with an alleged case of obtaining money under false pretences.
The declaration was made public on Monday through the commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, with a formal notice signed by EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale. The notice confirmed that Tejuosho is currently the subject of an active investigation and urged members of the public with knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward.
Citizens with relevant information have been directed to walk into any EFCC office across the country, reach out via the agency’s official communication channels, or report to the nearest police station or security outfit.
Tejuosho had only recently been appointed to her leadership role within the City Boys Movement, where she was expected to spearhead women-centred programmes spanning political mobilisation, civic engagement, and grassroots advocacy across the South-West geopolitical zone.
Her declaration as a wanted person has, however, cast a shadow over that appointment. The EFCC is yet to disclose further details surrounding the nature and scope of the alleged fraud, though the commission indicated that developments will be made public as investigations progress.
