Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has taken a swing at presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), criticizing his refusal to give specific answers on how he plans to tackle Nigeria’s electricity and security problems if elected.
The actress aired her frustration on social media after watching the former Anambra governor’s recent interview with broadcaster Rufai Oseni, during which Obi avoided spelling out concrete details when pressed on how he intends to deliver on his promises.
In her reaction, Amusa insisted that anyone vying for the country’s top job must be able to clearly articulate not just their plans, but also the steps they’d take to execute them. She argued that simply pointing out government failures isn’t enough — Nigerians need real alternatives, not just criticism.
She added that presidential hopefuls owe the electorate clear, detailed explanations of what they would do differently if voted into office, and questioned why Obi seemed reluctant to lay out his strategy when, in her view, transparency should be a given for anyone seeking the people’s mandate.
Amusa didn’t hold back in her post on X: “A leader should be able to answer how and what they can do differently… No sir, you can’t criticize all government policies and not give solutions to them. It’s very obvious you don’t want people to vote you, that’s why you want to keep your plans to your chest. It’s not a secret affair — we want to know what you’re going to do differently. I watched the podcast with Rufai, it wasn’t inspiring!”
