Nigeria’s new Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, has pledged to usher in a new era of transparent, responsive, and citizen-centred policing as he assumes office.
Iniedu made the commitment in a statement on Saturday, days after his appointment was confirmed by the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu.
“Crime and impunity remain our common enemy, and their defeat requires the active partnership of every Nigerian,” he said.
The new Force PRO also issued an open invitation to the public, media, and other stakeholders to engage constructively with his office, expressing hope for a tenure anchored on accountability and results.
“I extend an open invitation to the public, the media, and all stakeholders to engage constructively with this office. I am grateful for the goodwill messages received and look forward to a productive tenure built on accountability and results,” Iniedu stated.
His appointment was announced on Friday by the outgoing Force PRO, DCP Anthony Placid, who described Iniedu as a seasoned officer with deep experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, and institutional administration.
