The Super Falcons now have their full complement of players ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after Deborah Abiodun and Gift Monday joined the squad at their camp in Casablanca.
Their arrival means head coach Justine Madugu now has all 25 invited players available, with the team’s preparations moving into their final phase before the tournament begins.
The duo had originally been billed to report camp on Tuesday, but a cancelled flight from the United States pushed their arrival back by several days.
The delay meant both players missed Nigeria’s 2-1 friendly victory over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars on Thursday, which served as the Super Falcons’ last warm-up match before the competition proper.
Abiodun was part of the squad at the last WAFCON, while Monday came close to selection for that edition but did not make the final cut.
The 10-time African champions will depart Casablanca for Rabat later today, July 24, where all their Group C matches will be played.
Nigeria open their title defence against Malawi’s Scorchers on Tuesday, July 28, before taking on Zambia and Egypt in the group stage.
The tournament officially kicks off on Sunday, July 26, with hosts Morocco facing Kenya at 9 p.m., preceded by the Algeria-Senegal clash at 6 p.m. (WAT).
