The joy of every parent is to see their children grow and to reap, in plenty, the rewards of the investment they made in them. For Alhaji Mudassir Ayoola Ogunsola Ogunlowo, that joy is now fully realised his children, whom he trained through hard work, have in turn made his 80th birthday a special one, shutting down the city of Ibadan to honour the good work he put in to ensure they are where they are today.
For Kayode Ayobami Ogunlowo, chairman of Ibadan-based Manchy Autos Services and De Manchy Hotels, Ibadan, putting a smile on his father’s face has always been a priority. He has told the world of the pivotal role his father played in his journey through life and promised himself that he would go to any length to celebrate him to the high heavens. When his father’s 80th birthday beckoned, he found it an avenue to appreciate him by throwing a talk-of-the-town birthday shindig on November 1st, 2026, at the Sunlight Royal Event Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The blue-themed birthday party featured the crème de la crème of Ibadan top socialites, business moguls, government appointees, billionaire businessmen and other high-profile individuals. He ensured food and drinks were in endless circulation, while Fuji maestro King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall was on the bandstand to serenade guests, alongside skit maker Dele Omo Woli’s band. It was a roller coaster of fun, as the birthday also availed warring NURTW leaders MC Musiliu and Tafa Sego the chance to bury their longtime rift on stage while K1 was performing. The party did not only rock the city of Ibadan, it sent a statement that Ayobami Ogunlowo is a heavyweight and many of his friends turned up to celebrate his father’s day.
