
Engr. Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, Son of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, is one of the privileged kids that has the financial war chest of their parents at their disposal. He rode luxury automobiles like the vintage Aston Martin, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes Benz Brabus G Wagon, and the popular Ferrari super sport car. The Aviation savvy Abuja big boy gets anything he wants with a flip of the finger. At no point did he lack every good thing in life. He was having a good time until he was alleged to have laundered Billions of Naira while his father Governor Bala Mohammed was the then: Minister for Federal Capital Territory. He was alleged to have used the slush funds to acquire choice properties within the Abuja Metropolis. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC approached the court for a forfeiture of the properties traced to him. In a bid to upturn the wish of the EFCC by taking over all the properties linked to him, in March 2020, the court granted EFCC the power of interim forfeiture of the choice properties, he was alleged to have acquired with the laundered funds in Abuja.
Sources averred to CITYSPY that; the money laundering case with the EFCC weighed him down psychologically and emotionally. Most expecially with his strict bail condition. “At a point, he was always thinking. It took the close attention of his wife and parents to help him get back to his feet”.
From the recent happenings surrounding the cosmopolitan Abuja Big boy, it seems he is gradually bouncing back with a smile on his face. On Saturday the 19th of December, amidst pomp and royalty, he was turbanned as the Dangaladiman Duguri, by the District Head of Duguri, HRM, Ibrahim Y.M Baba at a ceremony that attracted the attendance of top guests. The title was supposed to be for his father but due to his current post as the Governor of Bauchi State, Shamsudeen was next in line to take the highly coveted title.
