
The Alake of Egba Land, Oba Gbadebo Aremu Adedotun III, has every reason to be thankful to his creator. Most especially, for sparing his life, in this time where an average life span is a minimum age of 60 years. Today Friday 14th of September, the septuagenarian Monarch sauntered into age 75 amidst pomp and eulogy.
Flashback to five years ago, when he celebrated his 70th birthday, he threw a carnival like birthday soiree. The whole of Egba Land was shaken to its root, the high heavens knew it was the kings birthday as he spared no cost to give himself a lavish 70th birthday treat. On his 75th birthday today, friends and family in their large numbers, converged to celebrate the Reverend monarch, who retired from the Nigeria Military, as a Colonel.
CITYSPY gathered from a close source that; ”The birthday soiree is currently holding at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library OOPL, where friends, family, sons and daughters of Egba land and other top personality from all works of life would converge to celebrate the monarch.” CITYSPY futher gathered that; ”After the series of lectures and merriment at the OOPL, everybody would converge at the palace where every guest would be given a royalty treat. The state Governor is also expected to be in attendance as an Egba man and other prominent personalities as well.” Oba Gbadebo assumed his fathers throne in August 2005, scoring 15 votes out of 23 votes to win the kingship tussle amidst stiff competition with over 8 contestant.
