The popular saying; ‘nothing last forever’ captures the current situation of Dame Patience Johnathan. It came as a big shock to her when Goodluck Johnathan lost his re-election bid to retain his stay at Aso-rock villa, as the President of Nigeria.
Now it’s all dawn on her, as reality had taken it’s full cause. She has apparently gotten the memo. While her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, was President, Patience was a mini god. She was very influential to the extent that if she sneezes, the whole Aso-rock catches the vibes.
Ever since her husband was sent packing by the new Government, Patience Johnathan, an heavy weight, has degenerated to becoming a paper tiger. She has been deserted by close friends and favour seekers.
The Nigeria’s former first lady, Patience Jonathan, is being trailed with controversies over her alleged complicity in money-laundering and other fraudulent activities, during her husband’s tenure in the presidency. Jonathan has since recoiled into his shell maintaining a low profile lifestyle.
However, on October 25th, Patience would be joining the league of sexagenarian. Unlike when her husband was in power, the Aso-rock would have been a Mecca for favour seekers, government officials and friends to the first lady. She would have been getting goodwill messages and gift of all kind in a build up to her 60th birthday soiree. Drums would have been rolled out with praise singers; singing her praise to the high heavens.
