
Ogun state commissioner for commerce and industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, has resigned his appointment under the Governor Ibikunle Amosun led administration. The resignation letter dated Today the 17th of November was submitted to the Governors office in Oke mosan, Abeokuta.
It would be recalled that, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, was declared the winner of the Chief Olu Okuboyejo screening committee of APC elders Ijebu-Remo governorship Agenda as a consensus candidate to fly the parties flag high at the next governor election to succeed his boss, Governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2019. Bimbo Ashiru defeated Senator Olorunibe Mamora, Senator Gbenga Kaka, former deputy Governor Segun Adesegun, Olumuiywa Oladipo,Abayomi Ogunwo, Dr T kazeem, Jimi Lawal, and Owodunni Opeyemi.
A close source to Otunba Bimbo Ashiru told CITYSPY that; ”The decision on Otunba Bimbo’s resignation was a smart move. He had to resign before his boss sacks or victimise him. We are all aware that Amosun has blessed his Chief of staff, Chief Tolu Odebiyi to succeed him. Otunba Bimbo now has the time to do his underground work so as to enable him scoop the party’s ticket to contest as Governor in the next election”.
