
When former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Minister for Solid and mineral development, many of his supporters were happy that he got a soft landing bagging a federal appointment, after he was humbled and chased out of the Ekiti state Government by Governor Ayo Fayose in 2014.
Pundits went as far as tipping him for an excellent performance; based on his educational pedigree laced with his vast intelligence and wealth of knowledge as an authority in international diplomacy. Many political observers tipped him to become one of the best minister alongside former Lagos state Governor now Minister of Power, Housing and Works Babatunde Fashola.
Lately, it seems things are not going the way he planned, he is currently getting what he never bargained for. His vast knowledge is being put to test. The graduate of Univesity of Lagos and Ife is fast becoming the worst minister in the president Buharis cabinet. Many have faulted his competency of leading the ministry to its promise land. ”Ever since he was appointed by the President as the Minister for solid minerals, there has never been one tangible thing he has done or contributed to the ministry.” A close source told CITYSPY.
To make matter worst for the embattled Minister, today March1st, the House of Representatives has unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on him alongside the Minister of State, Mr. Abubakar Bawa-Bwari.
The authorities of the green chambers; summoned both ministers to the floor of the house to discuss in a debate by proffering a lasting solution to the ongoing crisis affecting the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel plant in Kogi state. The motion for a no-confidence vote was moved by the Leader of the House, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
