Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a ₦20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants across the state as part of efforts to ease financial pressure ahead of the festive season.
The package will benefit workers in the state civil service as well as those serving in all 44 local government areas.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko-Muhammad.
According to the statement, the initiative is designed to support workers ahead of the Eid celebrations. It also confirmed that the payment covers civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 14 across ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils.
The intervention follows the recent payment of May salaries to both state and local government workers.
Governor Yusuf said the gesture reflects his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, noting that civil servants remain the backbone of public service in Kano State.
He explained that the decision was influenced by current economic realities and the additional financial needs associated with festive periods.
He added that the support is expected to enable workers to celebrate Eid with comfort and renewed hope alongside their families.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s focus on people-centred policies aimed at improving welfare, increasing productivity, and strengthening public service delivery.
He also extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to workers and residents of the state, praying for peace, unity, and continued prosperity in Kano and across Nigeria.
