
By all standard, Hajia Rashida Bello is a good woman. She is the delectable wife of the youthful Governor of Kogi state, Governor Yahyah Bello. Since the emergence of Yahyah as Governor of the North central state, Rashida has been admired by many with her down to earth way of life. Well respected across her state and beyond, she has been able to impact lives; most especially women. She has been on the forefront campaigning for empowerment programmes which Kogi women have been benefitting extensively from.
For those familiar with the recent happenings in Kogi state, over the week, would be aware of the havoc wrecked by flood in the state. it may interest you to know that; Kogi state is the meeting point for river Benue and river Niger which put the state in a possible risk of flood from the rivers. The heavy unprecedented flood made thousands of Kogi inhabitants displaced. They have lost their properties and homes to the flood. The Government quickly intervened by making provision for an Internally displaced Peoples (IDP) camp before measures to reclaim their properties can be made.
The first lady in her kind hearted nature, quickly intervened by coming to their succour. On Friday, she visited the camp under her KOWYA Foundation, as she donated generously to the flood victims. CITYSPY gathered that she donated beds, blankets, bags, rice, beans, vegetable oil, clothes, and other items that will ensure a better stay at the IDP camp before a proper relocation to their homes.
