Fatai Ajani Owoseni, a retired Commissioner of Police (formerly serving in Lagos and Benue States), has resigned from two positions in Oyo State government:
- Special Adviser on Security to Governor Seyi Makinde
- Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF)
His resignation letter, dated May 7, 2026, was addressed to the governor through the Chief of Staff’s office and took effect immediately. In the letter, he expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for the opportunity to serve and offered to remain available to assist with transition matters, including changing bank account signatories for the Trust Fund.
The likely reason? Sources suggest his resignation is tied to plans to contest the Oyo State governorship in 2027, and that he is expected to announce his new party platform within days.
