A labour activist and National Coordinator of the All Workers Convergence, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to review his leadership approach and address the growing concerns of Nigerians over economic hardship and insecurity.
In a statement released on Sunday, Emelieze said the President should recognize that political power is temporary and focus on policies that improve the lives of citizens.
According to him, many Nigerians are struggling under the weight of rising living costs, unemployment, and worsening security challenges, including kidnapping and violent attacks in several parts of the country.
The labour leader argued that government policies introduced so far have failed to ease the burden on citizens and have instead deepened the difficulties faced by many households.
Addressing the President directly, Emelieze described the current administration as disappointing and urged Tinubu to pay attention to the sentiments being expressed by Nigerians.
He maintained that public dissatisfaction with the government is increasing and called on the President to make significant changes before the end of his tenure.
“It is not too late to make amends and correct the situation,” Emelieze said. “You should remember that no one remains in power forever. Your stay in Aso Rock is temporary, and one day you will leave office. What matters is the legacy you leave behind and how Nigerians will remember your time in government.”
He further advised Tinubu to avoid what he described as an authoritarian style of leadership, stressing that elected leaders are accountable to the people and should govern with humility and a sense of responsibility.
Emelieze concluded by urging the President to listen to the concerns of citizens, take decisive action on insecurity and economic challenges, and work towards restoring public confidence in his administration.
