The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the list of successful candidates recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as part of the ongoing exercise to enlist 50,000 Police Constables nationwide.
The Commission disclosed that the publication of the successful applicants followed the successful completion of a comprehensive recruitment process designed to ensure transparency, fairness, inclusiveness and equity.
According to the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, Torty Njoku Kalu, the recruitment exercise was carried out in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.
Candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination have been advised to check their recruitment status by logging into the official recruitment portal. The portal became accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The Commission also stated that successful applicants will receive official notifications through the email addresses and telephone numbers they provided during the application process.
Successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates that will be communicated later for documentation and medical screening. The PSC warned that any candidate who fails to report within the stipulated period would be regarded as having declined the offer of employment.
The Commission further explained that all candidates must undergo a medical examination conducted by the Nigeria Police Medical Team upon resumption at the training schools. Those who fail the medical assessment will be declared medically unfit and will not proceed with the training programme.
Applicants have been directed to report with all required documents, including their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original copies and photocopies of their academic certificates, alongside other documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
Argungu urged the successful candidates to view their appointment as a call to national service, encouraging them to uphold professionalism, integrity and discipline while contributing to the safety and security of the country.
He emphasized that the recruitment exercise reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving policing capacity and enhancing public safety across Nigeria through the expansion of the nation’s police workforce.
