While many people in her social bracket do things without permanence, like the rattlesnake that crawls through a rocky path, Yeye Moremi Oodua, Chief Mrs Olufunsho Amosun, former First Lady of Ogun State, has remained a woman who loves to leave indelible footprints wherever she finds herself. During her tenure as First Lady of Ogun State, her term was marked by developmental pet projects aimed at alleviating the lives of women and the girl child in the state. Her tenure from 2012 to 2019 was marked by resounding ideas geared toward development, which she achieved and which have positioned her as a woman who loves the people.
Since she was bestowed with the traditional title of Yeye Moremi Oodua, she has chosen to make an impact on the people of Ile-Ife by also attracting projects that will interest and develop them, especially in the educational and technological value chain. At the celebration of the Annual Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife last week, the delectable woman launched the Yeye Moremi Oodua Digital and AI Hub, Ile-Ife, where it was announced that it had successfully admitted its first batch of students on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The historic admission ceremony, held at the Hub’s premises in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, marks a significant milestone in the mission to empower Yoruba youth and women with future-ready skills in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Literacy, Coding, and Entrepreneurship. The pioneer cohort, carefully selected from across Osun State and beyond, will undergo intensive training designed to blend cutting-edge technology with the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of the Oodua race.
The idea of the hub by Yeye Moremi Ajasoro is driven by courage, sacrifice, and vision, with the commitment to raising a new generation of innovators who will lead Africa’s digital revolution from the source.
