Last Saturday on the 5th of February, APC youths within the South West states including Kwara organized the Progressive Youth Concert and Festival which was held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan. The event was held to converge youths to speak on the way forward on youth inclusion in the scheme of things at the next election in 2023. It was a mammoth gathering of top youth from different walks of life and another political starlet. With an ambiance flung around with fun-seeking youth accompanied by a loud noise from the speakers, the youths are indeed elated to witness the event as members of the House of Representatives and businessman Hon. Shina Adisa Peller, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye is also known as Small Alhaji, Hon. Seyi Adisa, OSMD founder Abisoye Fagade and a host of others attended and spoke.
The event availed teeming youth to discuss salient issues affecting youth inclusion in national politics among other issues that were discussed. The event also ensured that youth were rightly armed with the needed information to enable them to assume the role of nation-building by actively involved in politics and getting their permanent voters card to enable them to move en-mass to vote for their preferred candidates at the forthcoming election next year. The high light of the event was when Hon. Shina Peller sauntered into the stadium with his motorcade and entourage; the welcome was rousing. For over 30 minutes, the stadium was rented with his name as he moved almost all around to greet his people wearing a warm smile on his face. When it was Shina’s time to speak, he held the audience spellbound with his punchy and timely statement. He also admonished the youth to be inclusive in issues of politics.
The highlight of the event came when Oyo Assembly member, Hon. Seyi Adisa had finished speaking and the host called businessman and guber cum senatorial hopeful, Bisoye Fagbade to speak. When he mounted the stage, he asked questions on the meaning of Cryptocurrency and also offered anyone with the right answer a token of ten thousand Naira as a reward. After spending much time not addressing the topic he was invited to speak on coupled with his monotonous and repetitive speech, the teeming youthful audience started complaining about the time wasted. At this point, Singer Portable stood up and moved towards the stage. When people sighted him, his presence was accompanied by a loud coordinated wild roaring voice chanting the slang Zaazoo!!!. The attention immediately shifted from the speaker to the Buzzing artiste whose presence created unrest from fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of his presence and performance. In other to appreciate his fans for the show of love, Portable immediately threw wads of cash in the air which further caused commission as fans scampered to catch the naira notes. Portable’s presence caused heavy distraction as the Lagos Bigboy left the microphone and silently moved sluggishly to his seat in anger laced with a big disappointment on his face. He later followed Portable’s step by throwing a wad of cash into the air as He left the stadium in the company of his few supporters.
The event hosted by Laffup and Peteru was well attended by top Nollywood actors like Jigan Baba Oja, Kamilu Compo, Kunle Afod, Wale Okunu and a host of others with musical performances from King Saheed Osupa, Small Doctor, Portable and a host of others.
