Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has adjourned the alleged ₦10.27 billion fraud case involving Ali Bello and Dauda Sulaiman until June 2, 2026.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Ali Bello, nephew of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, alongside Dauda Sulaiman on an amended 16-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering and misappropriation of funds.
During proceedings on Monday, the 17th prosecution witness, Ahmed Audu Abubakar, testified under cross-examination by defence counsel, A.M. Aliyu (SAN), on transactions linked to the acquisition of several properties in Abuja.
The properties mentioned include buildings on Danube Street, Plot 1773 in Guzape, Sheriff Plaza, Ikogosi Close, Durban Street and Dalla Hills Street.
Following the hearing, Justice Omotosho adjourned the case to June 2, 2026, for continuation of trial proceedings.
