President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 as the ruling party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The event will hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Abdulaziz Yari, former governor of Zamfara State and Director-General of the council, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, after meeting with the President at the Villa on Friday.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Yari said Tinubu had signed off on the proposed campaign timetable.
“The President has approved the proposed campaign timetable,” he said.
Under the schedule, the party will hold its opening campaign rally in Kaduna on October 24. Campaign activities will then move to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Dr Betta Edu and other APC leaders are expected to play key roles in the campaign.
The inauguration will formally set the council in motion and give party leaders and stakeholders a platform to coordinate mobilisation for the presidential election.
Meanwhile, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has started grassroots mobilisation of women. She is working with Edu, who is the council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, and other members of the directorate.
The effort is aimed at building support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket through community outreach and nationwide engagement.
