Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has opened up about what she values in a romantic partner, revealing that physical appearance is far from her priority.
In a conversation with media personality Diana Eneje, Ayra Starr emphasized that intelligence and emotional compatibility matter most to her.
“I don’t ever have a physical type. I am just attracted to intelligent people. Just be very intelligent. That’s the Gemini in me speaking. Just be intelligent, motivate me, let me also motivate you. Let’s be motivating ourselves to make money. Looks don’t really matter,” she said.
Ayra Starr also shared her picks for the greatest Afrobeats artists of all time—her personal “Afrobeats Big 3.” During an interview with Hot 97 FM, she named Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema as her top three, sparking debates online as Davido and Burna Boy were notably absent.
While fans often regard Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as Afrobeats’ dominant trio due to their global influence, Ayra Starr’s selection highlights the rise of newer voices and the evolving landscape of the genre.
“My Afrobeats Big 3 would be Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema. My solid Big 3,” she stated, igniting lively discussion across social media about generational shifts in Afrobeats.
