The public offer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals opened on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Monday, with shares priced at N525 each.
Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, marked the commencement by ringing the opening bell at the NGX trading floor in Lagos.
The listing is a landmark event for Nigeria’s capital market, as Dangote Refinery becomes the first refinery in NGX’s 66-year history to open its shares to public subscription.
The offer comprises 4.1 billion new ordinary shares at N525 per share, giving investors the chance to acquire equity in Africa’s largest refinery. Retail and institutional investors, along with eligible investors across Africa, are eligible to participate. The minimum subscription is 10 shares, requiring an investment of N5,250 at the offer price.
The offer opened on September 14, 2026, and is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026, subject to terms and conditions set out in the offer prospectus.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dangote said the public offer forms part of a broader push to expand public ownership of his companies. “We will lease every company that we operate,” he said.
The event drew prominent dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of the Dangote family, and representatives of the Nigerian capital market.
