Afrobeats star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, will hold a three-night residency at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, this December.
The singer announced the event, titled “Oriadè: The Residency,” on his verified Instagram page on Friday. The shows will run from December 17 to 19.
“LAGOS!!! We bringing it HOME!” Davido wrote in the caption, adding that after 15 years in the business, there was nowhere he would rather be. He also thanked fans for the love he has received from around the world.
The announcement video showed clips of the singer performing before massive crowds, interspersed with footage of Lagos and the National Theatre.
The residency marks 15 years since Davido began his music career. He rose to national prominence in 2011 with the single “Dami Duro” and has since become one of Africa’s biggest musical exports.
His catalogue includes hits such as “If,” “Fall” and “Aye,” alongside international collaborations that have helped push Afrobeats onto global stages. He has sold out arenas across Africa, Europe and North America.
