Ever since Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, shot into limelite few years ago, as a Disc Jocky, producer and singer, it has never been a dull moment for her as she enjoys her craft with great passion.
For a better description, DJ Cuppy is a misunderstood lady. Many of her admirers wondered why the daughter of a billionaire and Chairman of Geregu Power Plc, Femi Otedola, with her level of education and exposure would settle as a mere Disc Jocky. The opinion of naysayers holds no water as she is moved and fueled by her passion for entertainment; therefore, using music as a bait of expressing her inner feelings.
If there is one thing, she would always thank her creator for, it’s giving her a supportive and liberal father like Femi. Like a guardian angel, she enjoys maximum support and total freedom to chase her passion which is gradually paying off for her. She has played at top gigs having several endorsement deal to her credit.
Interestingly, beyond her feats as an entertainer, DJ Cuppy, who obtained a Master’s degree in Music Business from the New York University in 2015, is also described as a chip off the old block. She is already following the footsteps of her billionaire father in the area of philanthropy and service to humanity. Last year, through her Cuppy Foundation, she put smile on peoples faces by gave out fully funded University scholarship to several student.
The beautiful young lady’s love for lending a helping hand to the less privileged is well documented, a desire that has seen her take to her role as an ambassador for “Save the Children UK” with gusto. It was in this capacity she visited and spent time in the city of Maiduguri August this year to encourage children displaced by the activities of the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram.
In with its pristine vision, the Foundation will be organizing a special dinner tagged; “Gold Gala” in aid of the Save The Children’s Work in Nigeria at the prestigious Congress Hall of highbrow TransCorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Sunday, November 10, 2019.
According to the organizers, the highoctane event, which is billed to kick off with a cocktail reception and later a dinner at 6:00p.m, will have the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as its special guest of honour and as well feature music and comedy performance.
