Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has opened up about how his inability to cook shaped his relationships with women during his university years.
Speaking on the Lahor Podcast, the actor revealed that cooking was one skill he never mastered, and as a student, he found a workaround: dating women who could cook for him.
Jim Iyke said he would pursue relationships with different women in his department purely so they would prepare meals for him. Once a woman cooked for him, he would end the relationship shortly after, moving on to the next.
He admitted the pattern continued for a while until he was eventually found out, an exposure that damaged his standing with women in his department. According to him, word spread quickly, and other female students began keeping their distance.
Narrating the experience, Jim Iyke said cooking remains the one thing he has never learned to do. He explained that in university, he would “toast” a new girl every week specifically so she could cook for him, only to break things off once the meal was made. He added that the day he was caught, his reputation took a hit and the entire department stopped giving him a chance.
