Singer Johnny Drille has opened up on how his relationship with his wife, Rima Tahini, began during his years signed to Mavin Records, where she worked as an executive.
In a recent interview with Music Moments, Drille said he and Tahini started dating around November or December 2018, while he was still an artiste on the Mavin roster. He credited the label and its founder, Don Jazzy, with providing the environment where they met.
The singer explained that the couple made a deliberate decision to keep their relationship private, successfully doing so for nearly five years before it became public knowledge in July 2023. By the time fans found out, Drille and Tahini had already been married for over a year.
Drille reflected on how demanding it was to maintain that secrecy, describing the years of keeping the relationship under wraps as difficult but ultimately worth it.
Tahini previously served as Director of A&R at Mavin Records. The couple have since welcomed their first child, Amaris Esohe Ighodaro.
