The Kaduna State Police Command has destroyed two suspected bandit camps in the Makarfi Local Government Area, following a joint operation with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service.
The weekend raid was carried out after residents supplied intelligence on bandit activity around Durum and Danguzuri, areas stretching toward the Kaduna-Kano boundary.
Police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the joint security team acted on credible community information to launch the clearance operation, which led to the discovery and destruction of two structures allegedly used by the bandits to hold abducted victims.
The demolished hideouts were located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
The Command described the operation as part of a broader push to deny bandits and other criminal elements room to operate across Kaduna State. Security personnel have since maintained patrols in the affected areas to prevent the criminals from regrouping or striking again, with the police reporting that calm has returned to the communities.
Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended residents for the tip-off that led to the discovery of the hideouts and praised the officers involved for their courage.
He assured communities that the Command would sustain its offensive against banditry and other crimes in the state, and urged residents to keep sharing timely, credible information with security agencies, stressing that such cooperation remains vital to tackling insecurity.
