Talking about one of the best legal icon and human right activist in the country, Femi Falana (SAN) comes to mind. The Ilawe Ekiti born activist, is regarded as one of the few who has always lived his life for the downtrodden. He is known for standing up for the oppressed and downtrodden in court without charging a fee.
The soft-spoken law graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was last week Thursday, 16th of October honoured for his good deed and investment in humanity through the legal profession at the 3rd Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA) Conference, held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel Ikeja.
As a guest speaker, he received a standing ovation for delivering a powerful lecture on “Strategic Change Administration And Innovation to Curb Corruption In Nigeria”.
After delivering his lecture, the chairman council of Administrators, Adm. Samson Olopade, on behalf of the CIA, conferred on him the honorary fellowship of the CIA, for his immense contribution to humanity through the legal profession.
The conferment of fellowship allows Mr Falana add ADM before his name and FCIA after his name. Receiving the fellowship and award with smiles, Femi further reiterated his commitment to fighting for the oppressed for free. He is committed to making Nigeria an egalitarian society, devoid of oppression, with obedience of the rule of law.
