The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has dismissed the influence of the emerging coalition within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing its leading figures as politically overrated and ineffective.
Speaking during an appearance on Sunday Politics on Channels Television, Morka insisted that the ruling party has no reason to feel threatened by the opposition alliance, arguing that its members lack the strength to pose any serious challenge.
He specifically mentioned prominent politicians such as Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rauf Aregbesola, noting that while they have held significant positions in the past, their current political relevance is limited.
According to Morka, although these figures may appear influential individually, their collective impact within the ADC is negligible. He likened them to “twinkle, twinkle, little stars,” suggesting they are failing to make any meaningful political impression.
He also rejected allegations by the ADC that the APC is interfering in its internal affairs, challenging the opposition party to present concrete evidence to support such claims. Morka maintained that the APC remains confident, citing its electoral victories since 2023 as proof of its dominance.
Furthermore, he attributed the ADC’s ongoing internal crisis to its own leadership failures, describing the situation as self-inflicted. He suggested that the party’s struggles may even be the result of internal sabotage.
Extending his criticism, Morka referenced Peter Obi, accusing opposition figures of frequently switching political platforms and creating instability wherever they go, while blaming the ruling party for their challenges.
His remarks come amid a worsening leadership dispute within the ADC, following a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw recognition from a faction reportedly led by former Senate President David Mark.
