The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has once again shown his unconventional style, this time riding an electric scooter through the streets of Okere in Warri, Delta State, to personally inspect preparations for his fifth coronation anniversary.
The monarch combined the inspection with his morning workout, cruising through the community flanked by his security detail as excited residents lined the streets to catch a glimpse of him. Many cheered and hailed the royal father as he rode past, visibly pleased by his unannounced appearance.
A video capturing the moment was posted to the Olu’s official Facebook page on Saturday. The post noted that the scooter tour gave the monarch a firsthand look at ongoing preparations for the milestone anniversary while doubling as part of his fitness routine.
The footage has since sparked reactions online, with social media users commending the monarch’s accessibility and relaxed, people-first approach to royalty.
As the countdown to his fifth year on the throne continues, the Olu of Warri is expected to headline a string of high-profile events marking the occasion.
Scooter rides have become something of a signature for Ogiame Atuwatse III, who has steadily moved away from the pomp of a traditional royal motorcade. In March 2025, he rode through his ancestral home of Ode-Itsekiri to residents’ delight, and in December 2025, he was spotted on a scooter inspecting a newly completed road project in Delta State.
