Nigerian businessman and social media personality, Isaac Fayose, has expressed concern over the alleged rise in political thuggery ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
Fayose reacted to a viral video shared by Afrobeats star Davido, showing the reported arrest of suspected political thugs allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The video reportedly showed about 11 suspected thugs being transported in an APC campaign vehicle before they were arrested.
Commenting on the development in a Facebook post, Fayose warned that the situation in Osun could have serious implications for the country, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He alleged that the APC had deployed thugs to the state in an attempt to secure victory by force.
Fayose said, “I hope you all are seeing APC’s desperation in Osun. They have flooded the state with all kinds of thugs. We are in trouble.
“APC wants to win by force, and so they brought thugs to the state. We are in trouble in 2027. If you think we are okay, we are not.
“This APC desperation does not have part two. Nigerians, you must arise and take your country back. This is definitely not the country you want.”
The comments come amid accusations and counter-accusations between the APC and the Accord Party over alleged attacks and political violence in different parts of Osun State.
With the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, concerns over security and the conduct of the poll have continued to dominate discussions across the state.
