When the shocking news of the alleged demise of second Republic Vice President, Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, hit the cyber space, Nigerians were thrown into confusion, as the news spread like wild fire across the country. It generated mixed reaction among Nigerians, who wish to know the real truth behind his current health status. According to close family members, the Octogenarian former VP is alive, in stable condition, responding to treatment.
CITYSPY, in a publication last week, informed you that; the elder-statesman was reportedly to have collapsed at his residence located at Independence layout, Enugu, and was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of Memfys Hospital for Neurosurgery near Trans Ekulu, Enugu.
When the news of his death broke, Ekwueme’s family reacted by saying; ”The elder-statesman is still alive, responding to treatment, and has not been flown abroad yet as ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
CITYSPY gathered through a statement made available yesterday by the family spokesman, Mr. Uche Ezechukwu, the Ekwueme family said: “The wicked rumour making the rounds about the deterioration health condition of Alex Ekwueme is totally untrue.
“The truth is that the elder statesman is alive and well. His condition is not only stabilising but improving considerably.
“In fact, the former VP has moved from a stage of unconsciousness to a state whereby he now receives visitors, sits up and eats.
