In the year 1998, the astute business woman, with her doggedness and upright focus, nurtured her lofty dream Techno Oil, from a franchise Exxo Lubricant product seller, to the fastest growing indigenous Oil and Gas firm in Nigeria.
With her Midas touch of gold, Techno Oil can conveniently boast of its annual revenue running into over $400Million with over 500 staff strength. Nkechi’s close alleys often say that; ”If there is one thing she despise so much, its the sight of people around her in distress”. ”Nkechi would spare no cost in rendering assistance to the needy”. Over the years, she has always been on the forefront of championing wealth creation and women empowerment through her ‘Techno Oil Cook-safe Initiative’.
On Thursday the 5th of October, Nkechi was an invited keynote speaker at the National Company of the year competition organised for secondary school students across the country by Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN). The event was held at The Orchid hotel event centre, Lekki Express way, Lagos. When she mounted the podium to address the students and other attendee present at the event, Her oratory prowess caught the attention of those meeting her for the first time. She gladly shared her success story to inspire the students. In her words, she said; ”I started business when I was in secondary school. During holidays, my mom would tell me to join her at the bustling Balogun market, where she sells textiles materials. Reluctantly, I heed to her words. All I learnt in business today, I learnt it from that small shop with my mother at Balogun market and today it has really worked for me”.
