The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara in Kogi State, has taken disciplinary action against several students, resulting in the expulsion of four undergraduates and the rustication of another over various alleged offences, including same-sex relationship claims, violence, and cyber misconduct.
The decisions followed the recommendations of the institution’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee and were ratified during the 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026.
In official correspondence signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), Eli Gbadafu, the university stated that two 200-level students — Ezekiel Precious Omeneke (Economics) and Aku Joy Chinyere (Accounting) — were expelled over allegations relating to lesbianism.
Another student, Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi, a 200-level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student, was also dismissed after being accused of assaulting and stabbing a fellow student during a violent incident.
Similarly, Dominion Kolade A., a 200-level Physiotherapy student, was expelled for allegedly creating and sharing private images of two female students without their permission.
In a related case, Agbakaru Kosikochukwu, a 200-level Radiography student, received a one-session rustication for involvement in fighting and physical assault.
University authorities said the sanctions were part of ongoing efforts to enforce discipline, promote acceptable conduct, and ensure a safe academic environment for all students.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, praised the disciplinary committee for what he described as a fair and thorough review of the cases. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who demonstrate both academic competence and strong moral character.
The management further cautioned students to avoid behaviours that could jeopardise their academic future, stressing that the university will continue to strictly enforce its rules and regulations without compromise.
