Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, has directed all commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to submit details of serving inspectors and rank-and-file personnel who hold Doctorate, Master’s or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees.
The directive was contained in a police wireless message dated September 14, 2026, and marked “Most/Immediate.”
The message, issued by the Office of the Force Secretary in Abuja, instructed all relevant departments, police colleges, training institutions and state commands to provide the requested information by September 16, 2026.
The signal stated: “IGP directs, as a matter of urgency, that you forward a list of inspectors/rank-and-file serving under you who are holders of doctorate degrees, master’s degrees or LLB, in addition to their posting signals, on or before 16/09/2026.”
The directive was addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Training and Development, police colleges, police departments, training institutions and all state commands.
It was also copied to the Office of the Inspector-General of Police and all Commissioners of Police.
According to the directive, the police authorities are specifically seeking information on personnel within the inspector and rank-and-file categories who possess the stated academic qualifications, alongside details of their current posting signals.
All affected commands and formations were instructed to treat the request as urgent and comply within the stipulated deadline.
