The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for information on Iran’s nuclear programme, targeting its facilities, equipment and personnel.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) disclosed the offer in a post on X on Friday. It said the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme would also consider relocating anyone who provides useful intelligence.
The programme is seeking details on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and the individuals tied to its operations, especially members of the country’s scientific community. It also wants information on the movement of nuclear-related equipment and personnel.
The State Department said doubts over Iran’s compliance with its safeguards obligations to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have limited the agency’s ability to monitor the country’s production and stockpile of key nuclear components, including centrifuges.
Centrifuges are used to enrich uranium and are central to any nuclear programme.
Established in 1984, Rewards for Justice offers financial incentives to people who provide information that helps protect US national security.
The announcement comes amid the ongoing conflict between Washington and Tehran. President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that US military strikes severely damaged Iran’s nuclear programme.
The latest offer, however, suggests Washington is still seeking intelligence on the country’s nuclear facilities, equipment and personnel.
