The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the composition of its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, featuring Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode in top leadership roles.
The list, made public on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, positions Sanwo-Olu prominently across both the advisory and campaign wings of the council.
Prince Tajudeen Olusi chairs the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu takes the role of Advisory Council Chairman, with Fashola and Ambode serving as co-chairmen.
Other members of the advisory structure include Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora. Ojelabi Cornelius was named Vice Chairman I, Obasa doubles as Vice Chairman II, and Damilola Sonayon James is Vice Chairman III.
On the campaign council proper, Sanwo-Olu is chairman, with his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as deputy chairman. Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro was named Director-General, Rasaq Ajala as his deputy, and Adekunle Olayinka as Campaign Secretary.
Several directorates and committees make up the council, covering legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement, and residents’ associations, among other portfolios.
The council’s unveiling comes as Lagos APC ramps up its 2027 preparations, with Hamzat already confirmed as the party’s governorship candidate and Damilola Sonayon-James as his running mate.
The campaign council will be formally inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
