Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has denied being a member of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The actress made her position known after the Lagos State chapter of the APC released its campaign council list on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with her name reportedly included among 33 personalities under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Reacting to the development, Abraham took to her Instagram Story to clarify that she had no involvement in the campaign council and had chosen to stay away from politics.
She urged members of the public to disregard reports linking her to the party’s campaign structure.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently; I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she stated.
The clarification came ahead of the formal inauguration of the Lagos APC Campaign Council, scheduled for Friday, September 18, at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Meanwhile, several prominent entertainers were listed as members of the campaign council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Those named include veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Fuji musicians Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere and Adewale Ayuba, as well as Nollywood actresses Eniola Badmus and Bimbo Akintola.
According to the released list, Toke Benson-Awoyinka will serve as Director of the directorate, while Jide Kosoko will be Co-Director and Eniola Badmus will serve as Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary, while Dare Olateju will serve as Assistant Secretary.
Toyin Abraham’s denial makes it clear that her reported inclusion in the campaign council does not represent her stated position or political involvement.
