Arise News has severed ties with political analyst Anthony Kila, announcing that he will no longer appear on the channel following allegations that he falsified his academic qualifications.
In a disclaimer issued by its Editorial Board and titled “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’”, the network said its decision followed an investigative report by Premium Times that questioned the authenticity of Kila’s credentials. Kila had appeared on the channel several times as a freelance political analyst.
According to the network, it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to put the allegations to him. He requested more time to respond but had still not done so 10 days later, it said, adding that the allegations had worsened in the meantime.
“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to the Arise News Channel is no longer tenable,” the station stated.
Arise News said it was unaware of the claims when Kila appeared on its platform, stressing that it takes issues of credibility and integrity “extremely seriously.” It added that it had taken note of the findings of the Premium Times investigation.
The network said Kila will not appear on any of its platforms, “at any time now or in the future,” with immediate effect.
