The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and united, expressing confidence that the country will overcome its current economic and security challenges.
In an Easter message released on Sunday in Abuja, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, said the resurrection of Jesus Christ serves as a reminder that recovery and renewal are always possible, even in difficult times.
He explained that Easter symbolises the return of hope when it seems lost and the promise of new beginnings after hardship.
Okoh acknowledged that many Nigerians are facing tough conditions, with families worried about safety and daily survival. However, he stressed that such challenges are not permanent and urged citizens to remain steadfast.
He also called on leaders across the country to translate their promises into visible actions, noting that Nigerians expect practical steps that will improve their lives.
According to him, effective leadership should be felt through empathy, commitment, and tangible results.
The CAN president further urged churches and religious bodies to continue supporting the people by offering guidance and encouragement during uncertain times.
He advised Nigerians not to give in to fear or division, but instead embrace unity and work together to overcome forces threatening national stability.
Okoh added that while difficult times can create division, they also present an opportunity for unity if citizens choose to support one another.
Describing Easter as more than a celebration, he said it is a call for Nigerians to rise above their differences and collectively tackle the nation’s challenges.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy Easter and praying for peace, unity, and progress across the country.
