Canada-based Nigerian woman Prophetess Ezinne Nwanorue has come under fire on social media for celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue.
Ezinne shared a funeral poster of the deceased on Facebook on Monday, describing her late mother-in-law as a “wicked witch” and accusing her and others of working against her.
She wrote that her mother-in-law should “rest in pieces in hell with other dead witches,” and issued a warning to others she accused of belonging to the same group.
Ezinne claimed her husband’s family had discovered her destiny and tried to stop her from fulfilling it. She said she was now in her “season of manifestation,” declared that no one could stop her, and credited God for her alleged victory.
The post has drawn mixed reactions online, with many social media users condemning her for publicly celebrating the death of a member of her husband’s family.
The controversy has also revived interest in Ezinne’s relationship with her husband, Franklin Chimaobi Nwanorue, which has repeatedly gone viral.
The couple first attracted attention after Ezinne reportedly made Franklin’s relocation to Canada conditional on him publicly swearing an oath of fidelity. In a viral video, Franklin vowed to remain faithful to his wife, saying he should die if he cheated after moving to Canada, and pledged to be a good husband and father to their children.
Ezinne later alleged in a Facebook post that Franklin broke that oath, claiming he continued a relationship with one of his alleged side chicks.
Her latest post about her mother-in-law’s death has now reignited public attention on the couple’s troubled marriage and the wider family dispute.
As of filing, neither Franklin nor other family members had responded publicly to Ezinne’s claims.
