Dangote Industries Limited will pay N500,000 to anyone who supplies credible information leading to the arrest of persons illegally using its trucks or the recovery of unauthorized goods moved on them.
The company announced the reward in a Lagos statement as part of a wider push to protect its logistics operations from unscrupulous individuals who exploit Dangote-branded trucks to haul goods they aren’t approved to carry.
Management said only specific products are cleared for transport by each subsidiary’s fleet. Dangote Cement trucks may carry only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker. Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are limited to sugar products. NASCON Allied Industries vehicles are meant for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning, while Dangote Packaging trucks are reserved for bags and packaging materials. Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are authorized for polypropylene products, and Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are cleared only for urea fertilizer haulage.
Any truck found carrying goods outside these categories will be treated as engaged in illegal haulage, the company warned, adding that both the driver and the owner of the unauthorized cargo risk arrest, seizure of the goods and prosecution.
“Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorized goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of Five Hundred Thousand Naira,” the company said.
Whistleblowers have been asked to provide as much detail as possible when reporting — truck type, registration and cab numbers, location, description of the cargo, the vehicle’s colour, and photographs where available.
Dangote has set up dedicated hotlines to receive reports on illegal haulage linked to its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants. It said law enforcement agencies, including the Police, have been authorized to arrest any driver caught using company trucks for unauthorized commercial haulage.
The company reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on logistics fraud, urging the public to support enforcement efforts by exposing illegal operators. It said the whistleblower scheme is meant to protect company assets, strengthen transparency and accountability, and safeguard the integrity of its nationwide transport network.
“Public cooperation remains critical in our efforts to eradicate illegal haulage activities. We encourage anyone with credible information to come forward and help us maintain the integrity of our transportation system,” the statement added.
