President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said meaningful national transformation cannot occur without sacrifice, as he addressed Nigerians during the Easter celebration.
In a personally signed message released through his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the president noted that the lessons of Easter reflect Nigeria’s current situation, as the country grapples with economic hardship and security concerns.
He stressed that despite ongoing challenges, his administration remains committed to tackling insecurity and stabilising the economy. Tinubu revealed that efforts are being intensified through increased funding and strategic international partnerships aimed at combating terrorism and banditry.
Referencing his recent visit to Jos, the president said he had met with affected communities to express solidarity and assure them of improved security. He added that heads of security agencies have provided assurances of progress, with additional support coming from international allies.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain united and supportive of government initiatives, emphasising that peace and national cohesion are essential for sustainable development. He called on citizens to reject actions that threaten collective security and instead promote harmony and cooperation.
On governance and reforms, the president acknowledged that current policies may be challenging but insisted they are necessary steps toward long-term prosperity. According to him, history shows that lasting progress is often achieved through difficult but purposeful decisions.
Looking ahead to future elections, Tinubu emphasised the need for political actors to adhere strictly to the Electoral Act, urging Nigerians to participate responsibly in the democratic process and prioritise peace, stability, and national interest.
He expressed optimism about the country’s direction, noting that key economic indicators suggest progress and hinting at better days ahead.
Tinubu concluded by thanking Nigerians for their continued support and trust, encouraging them to remain hopeful and committed to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.
