At 58, highly gracious Lagos-born Princess Oluwatoyin Saraki nee Ojora connotes the mien of a woman with a demeanour of an angel. She radiates an uncommon aura that brings about positivity, clarity and love. All her life, she has surrounded herself with an undying passion for creating values. More reason she has continued to age like a fine wine glowing and beaming with life. To date, she is a strong advocate of proper breastfeeding of infants by their mothers. The former Kwara state first lady has constantly been filling the lacuna in exclusive breastfeeding by Nigerian nursing mothers through her Wellbeing Foundation. As part of the efforts set to achieve the common goal, the foundation has constantly sustained breastfeeding in all its campaigns and has also gone to rural areas to propagate the gospel of proper breastfeeding of infants.
For her, birthday has a different meaning. For a woman of her calibre, throwing a massive 58th birthday soiree on the 5th of September, calling praise singers, rolling out drums, and spending lavishly on high-cost drinks and continental meals is of no essence. The best birthday celebration for her is impacting her immediate environment via advocacy, and philanthropy using healthcare as bait. While many thought she was going to celebrate with fanfare; her NGO WBFA at the Kwara General hospital through her Mama care 360 initiative reached out to pregnant women to treat them for Malaria during Pregnancy which accounts for low birth weight and also sensitize them on the need to protect their self against mosquitoes bite malaria in other to make their baby healthy. Saraki has rejigged her commitment to increasing her advocacy in healthcare through the WBFA’s Mamacare Antenatal and Postnatal Education Programme which will create a healthy community.
