The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Hamzat, has increased his engagements with Christian communities across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Hamzat disclosed the development in posts shared on his X account on Sunday.
He said he attended the 19th anniversary celebration of Love of Christ Generation Church in Oniru, Lagos, describing the church’s years of service and contributions to the community as commendable.
Hamzat congratulated the church and expressed hope that it would continue to make a positive impact on Lagos residents.
The APC candidate also visited Harvesters International Christian Centre, where he met with the church’s pastor, Bolaji Idowu, and worshippers during the AWAKENING 2026 programme.
According to Hamzat, the gathering provided an opportunity for reflection and hope. He said Lagos could achieve greater progress if residents remained united and committed to the right values.
During the event, Pastor Idowu appealed to Hamzat to prioritise the welfare of residents if he becomes governor.
He noted the economic difficulties facing Nigerians and urged whoever emerges as governor to work towards making life easier for the people.
Idowu also expressed concern about young people being pushed into internet fraud and prostitution because of economic hardship, stressing the need for better opportunities and improved living conditions.
The pastor further commended Hamzat’s experience and credentials.
Hamzat also visited the leadership of Christ Embassy, led by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
He said faith-based organisations have continued to play an important role in supporting families, empowering young people and contributing to community development.
The APC candidate added that sustainable progress in Lagos would require collective efforts, expressing optimism about the future of the state.
