Iran says it is considering a two-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, provided the United States agrees to its conditions.
The proposal shortens an earlier one-week timeline that Tehran had put forward.
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei disclosed this on Monday, describing the shorter timeframe as further proof of Iran’s good faith.
“The possibility of implementing this plan in two days is another indication of Iran’s good-faith approach,” Baqaei said.
He added that security could be restored to the strait, and negotiations resumed within a short period, if Iran’s demands are met.
Baqaei also said the “exchange of messages is still ongoing.”
