Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is celebrating a new family milestone after her daughter, Meraiah Ekeinde, announced her engagement.
Meraiah shared the news on Wednesday in a black-and-white video showing a romantic beachside proposal. She kept the caption simple: “New chapter.”
In the clips, she is seen strolling along the beach before showing off her ring and briefly revealing her fiancé, though she has kept his identity largely private, showing only parts of his face.
Meraiah, 25, is the second of Omotola and Captain Matthew Ekeinde’s four children. She works as a model, fashion merchandiser and apparel product developer, splitting her time between Lagos and Los Angeles. Unlike her mother, she has kept a relatively private personal life while building her own name in fashion and lifestyle.
Omotola and her siblings reposted the engagement video on their own pages, joining fans and well-wishers who flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Omotola, who has been married to Matthew Ekeinde since 1996, has consistently shared her children’s milestones with fans over the years. In March, Meraiah surprised her mother by flying in for the Lagos premiere of “Mother’s Love,” Omotola’s directorial debut marking 30 years in Nollywood.
Details of the wedding, including Meraiah’s fiancé, remain under wraps for now, but the announcement has already set social media abuzz with excitement for the family.
