The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that the party will make history by winning the August 15 governorship poll.
Oyebamiji made the statement during an engagement with members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria (AMTEN) held on Sunday in Osogbo.
Represented by the Chairman of the Civic Engagement Committee of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the APC candidate expressed optimism that residents of the state would massively support him and the party at the polls.
He said the election would mark a turning point for Osun as the state returns to what he described as the progressive path.
According to him, his administration would focus on delivering meaningful governance and improving the welfare of residents through people-oriented policies.
“History will be made on August 15 when I emerge as governor of Osun State. I believe strongly in God and in the people that victory will be ours,” he said.
Oyebamiji stressed that governance is a serious responsibility and promised to implement programmes that would improve economic security, healthcare delivery, education and social protection across the state.
He explained that his administration would expand social safety nets aimed at reducing poverty while creating opportunities for small and large-scale businesses to thrive.
The APC candidate also pledged support for professionals in the telecommunications sector, noting that mobile communication remains vital to economic growth and business development.
He added that his development agenda, tagged “PROSPER,” would be fully implemented to improve living standards across the state.
Oyebamiji urged residents to ignore what he described as false allegations and campaigns of calumny against him, insisting that his lifelong commitment has always been centred on service to humanity.
He commended AMTEN members for their support for the APC and assured them that their loyalty would be rewarded with good governance if elected.
“Vote for me and let us make history together. I will not disappoint the people of Osun. I will deliver results that future generations will be proud of,” he added.
Earlier, the President of AMTEN, Dr. Abdulrasaki Ejalonibu, assured the APC candidate of the association’s support in the election.
Ejalonibu said members appreciated the recognition given to the association and recalled the support they enjoyed during the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
He, however, urged Oyebamiji to fulfil his campaign promises if elected governor.
“We assure you of our votes, but you must also keep your promises to the people,” he said.
