Afrobeats star Davido has declared that no amount of political maneuvering by opponents can stop Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke from securing a second term in the August 15 governorship election.
Davido, who chairs the Imole Youth Campaign Council, made the declaration at the inauguration of the Imole Youth Canvassers in Osogbo Federal Constituency, held at Adeleke’s campaign office in Osogbo. He was represented by his deputy, Kayode Olododo.
The singer expressed confidence that voters, particularly the youth and undecided residents, would rally behind Adeleke at the polls. He tasked the newly inaugurated canvassers with taking the campaign message directly to communities and educating residents on the governor’s achievements rather than clashing with political rivals.
According to Davido, the group’s focus should remain on highlighting the administration’s development projects and the opportunities it has created for young people across the state.
He said: “Let us be courageous, not minding the current political rascality by some bad losers. It will not stop Adeleke’s victory. Our message is clear to the people of Osun State. We need to tell them what Adeleke has achieved in such a short time. Osogbo Federal Constituency has benefited from this administration in infrastructure and other areas.
“The youths are better represented in his government than in the previous administration. You are young and useful, so I urge you not to fight anyone but to win the hearts of undecided voters. We are the engine room of this campaign. We are the force that will carry the Imole message to every doorstep and ensure no vote is left behind.”
Davido urged the canvassers to sustain peaceful engagement with the electorate as the state heads into the decisive poll.
